Topic: Self-described Christians will persecute real Christians and think they are serving God. Today Brannon looks at several passages of Scripture and discusses how a false church will persecute true Christians. Are well known evangelicals giving credibility to this false church and will that cause many to not speak up when this false church persecutes Christians? Will the persecution be justified under the false claim that real Christians are haters, intolerant, and divisive? Why would David Jeremiah work with them when their productions do not represent the Jesus of the Bible or the Biblical gospel? Roma is an admitted New Age Catholic. Topic: We take your calls.

Kristen Waggoner serves as Senior Vice President of Legal Services with Alliance Defending Freedom, leading their legal and media efforts. She has participated as counsel and prevailed in several high-profile constitutional cases dealing with matters such as same-sex marriage, pharmacist conscience rights and clergy-parishioner privilege. Barronelle Stutzman of Richland, Washington, is a 70 year old grandmother and the sole owner of Arlene's Flowers, a shop started by her mother. According to Kristen, Barronelle loves to serve her customers and her goal is to make friends with them and help them celebrate the important events in their lives. Barronelle met and became friends with a man named Rob Ingersoll about 10 years ago. While understanding Barronelle's religious stance, he nonetheless identified himself to her as a homosexual. Knowing these things about each other they became good friends and worked well together.
Topic: Hear the audio of John MacArthur affirming the figure of 50 million killed by the Inquisition of The Church of Rome as stated by numerous credible historians including John Dowling. Brannon found this recording in his research over the weekend and it is very interesting since a man in the order fullfillment room at Grace to You and a professor at the Master’s Seminary have been trying to defend Todd Friel and his fallacious history. These men have been publicly critical on social media of those stating the historical fact that the Vatican killed 50 million Christians during the Inquisitions and not 3,000 as stated by Todd Friel. Will these two men ridicule Dr. MacArthur on social media, the man they work for, as using a flawed figure or as being ridiculous or of trumping up statistics by affirming the 50 million figure who were murdered? Topic: Truth is not based on the circles you run in, the degrees you hold, the experts you can dig up or the institution you work for. Truth stands alone and is true with us or without us. We must not let people use institutions or personalities as the sole source of what is true. Truth must stand on its own. Topic: Dr. David Plaisted joins us to talk about his report and book on the Inquisition and those attacking his work and report. Topic: Todd Friel’s expert professor friend quotes a sexologist as a source twice on social media to try and defend Todd Friel and his comment that the 600 year Inquisition only killed 3,000. This professor wrote a piece chiding those that offer so called trumped up statistics yet this gentleman seems to have offered a trumped up expert that he did not know anything about including that the man was a pro-abortion, pro-prostitution sexologist. Thankfully this man publicly retracted and apologized for his error of quoting a sexologist and not an Inquisition expert, but not before taking an apparent jab at anyone using the documented figure of 50 million. It seems Todd and his expert are accusing folks of bad scholarship while they use bad scholarship to try and preserve Todd’s credibility after he quoted Wikipedia and the historically inaccurate figure of 3,000 killed in the entire 600 years of the Inquisition. Topic: The professor that Todd tried to use to defend his fallacious 3,000 figure said the low figure might be accurate if you are speaking only of Spain and Portugal when you talk about the Inquisition. Well that is just plain unscholarly because no scholar would talk about the Inquisition and only discuss those killed by the Vatican in Spain and Portugal. That is like saying you want to discuss World War II but only what happened inside Germany. Topic: Todd praises modern scholars as perhaps being more reliable than old dead guys. Why is such a belief dangerous for Church history, Biblical theology and scholarship?
Mike Gendron responds to Todd Friel and his false claims that only 3,000 people were killed in the 600 years of the Inquisition, that the Inquisition was carried out by a branch of Christianity, that it was an in-house issue of Catholics killing Catholics, and that it was not a reign of terror per se. Mike Gendron is an extremely credible expert on Catholicism as a former Catholic of 37 years and is so well respected as an expert that he gave this interview just hours before departing to be a keynote speaker at the international Shepherds Conference of Dr. John MacArthur. Topic: Brannon plays some audio from the documentary by former Catholic Priest Richard Bennett that reveals the Inquisition was a reign of terror despite the claims by Todd Friel and Bennett reveals some of the torture tools used during this reign of terror. Topic: Brannon then takes several minutes to lay out just a portion of the detailed and documented figures from respected historians and Christians that document the reliable number of 50 million that were killed in the Inquisition by the Vatican. This figure of 50 million has been reported and documented by the well-known and much respected Halleys Bible Handbook. John Wesley wrote of the 45 million killed and the 50 million is documented by Professor James MacLean of the Department of French and Spanish at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Dr. Plaisted documents 15 million killed from 1518-1548. Halleys handbook documents the 14-18 million killed in the thirty year war (1618-1648) started by Ferdinand II for the purpose of suppressing Protestantism in the Holy Roman Empire. Halleys handbook documents that Ferdinand II had been educated by the Jesuits and with their help undertook to suppress Protestantism (p. 792). Then 5 million killed by the persecutions in Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, and elsewhere. Then as Dr. Plaisted documents you have 3 million killed in the conflict in Bohemia and 4 million in France, then 900,000 killed in the persecution of the Waldenses, then the 1 to 2 million Albigenses killed in Southern France. Then you have those killed by the Vatican before the Reformation that would include the 10 million killed in the Hundred Years War from 1337-1453. Again, why are Christians helping the Vatican re-write their history when we know their goal is to create an ecumenical false church as described in Revelation 17? Topic: We take your calls.
Topic: A few people on Facebook wanted to know why it mattered if the Todd Friel was saying 3,000 people were killed in the 600 year inquisition versus the real number of 50 million. Today Brannon explains that it goes to the heart of the gospel and not allowing the Church of Rome to re-write history and thus portray itself as Christian and Christian friendly for their ecumenical agenda. Topic: On the previous program Brannon did not play the clip of how Todd started his discussion on the inquisition. Today you will hear that Todd starts his program and discussion on the Inquisition with a short clip from a Mel Brooks comedy skit on the Inquisition. If you Google the words of this comedy skit then do so at your own risk as it contains vulgar content. Is this appropriate? Is this how Christians or a serious and credible Christian broadcaster should set up a serious discussion of the Inquisition? Does Todd not know how or when it is or is not appropriate to be a comedian? Topic: If Todd is so concerned about the Strange Fire facing evangelicalism from the Word of Faith and New Apostolic Reformation then why is he still on the air with American Family Radio that seems intent on continuing to promote and interview such NAR/WOF folks as Rick Joyner, Heidi Baker, Rod Parsley and others? Not to mention the AFA sponsored prayer rally in January of 2015 that featured as a keynote speaker Governor Jindal giving his testimony and describing himself as an evangelical Catholic. If Todd is really concerned about truth, ecumenicalism, and strange fire then we believe it is time for him to cut ties with AFR. Topic: Justin Peters joins us to give his thoughts on the comments by Todd. Justin also joins us to discuss audio clips of Rick Joyner being interviewed by Sid Roth describing how he went to heaven, discussed sports with the Lord, and then went swimming with the Lord. It is interesting to note that Rick Joyner was recently interviewed by Tim Wildmon on American Family Radio Network. Topic: Sid Roth and Joyner talk about Catholic mystic monk Brother Lawrence in a positive light. This is nothing more than the promotion of mysticism. Justin explains why all of this is a real warning to true believers.
Topic: Hear shocking audio clips of Todd Friel declaring that the Catholic Inquisition killed only 3,000 people over 600 years. This is the same liberal line his friends at American Family Radio Network, which carries his program, were spouting a few days ago on the Facebook page of one of their radio hosts. Why would Todd Friel say something that is historically documented as being false? As we have discussed many times before, the Church of Rome slaughtered 50 million Christians over 600 years and not 3,000 as Todd reports. Dr. David Plaisted documents the 50 million figure in his 84 page report that is online for free. Dr. Plaisted has many sources that document this figure of 50 million. Topic: Todd also says he is not defending this branch of Christianity that carried out the Inquisition. This sounded like Todd was saying that Catholicism was a branch of Christianity, which it is not. Topic: Todd says that there were 150,000 trials during the inquisition but only 3,000 killed. These figures do not even pass the smell test and should reveal to Todd that his reporting is flawed. This would mean that the Church of Rome only convicted about 2% of those they put on trial for heresy and 98% they set free. Topic: Todd says that part of the Inquisition was being carried out by the Church of Rome against Catholics that were not practicing Catholicism correctly, and the Inquisition was more of an in-house event. Topic: Todd says the Inquisition was not a reign of terror per se. Tell that to the 50 million Christians killed that included people that were burned alive and buried alive. Todd might want to become less of a comedian and more of a researcher if he is going to cover such topics. Topic: Chris and Brannon discuss why these comments by Todd are very troubling. Topic: We take your calls.
Today is part 2 on marriage. Brannon looks at several verses on marriage and then offers some of the things he and his wife do for each other that have made their marriage strong and enjoyable. Topic: It is often the little things that make a marriage work as well as make it enjoyable and fulfilling. Topic: Do not fall into child idolatry. Your marriage should be about each other and then the children. One of the greatest gifts you can give your children is to model a Godly marriage before them. Making your children the primary focus creates spoiled children and that will not serve them well in life or in their own marriage. Topic: What are some things you can do for your spouse since it is the little things that make for a great marriage? How about fill up the gas tank for your wife as often as you can to keep her from having to do so. Bring your spouse coffee in the morning. Go to bed at the same time if possible. Dress up for your spouse most every day even if it means doing so after you get off work if you wear a uniform or clothes that get dirty. Wear the cologne or perfume your spouse likes. Wear the clothes or colors they like on you. Style your hair the way your spouse likes. Do things with your spouse that they like whether it is shopping, golfing, water sports, hiking etc. Topic: We take your calls that includes a 22 year old wife that wants to warn about the dangers of critical or intrusive family members into a marriage. This is a program topic that we will examine in another program in greater detail.
Topic: Brannon talks about marriage and the Biblical qualities in his wife that he believes has largely contributed to a very happy and solid marriage of 24 years and counting. Brannon is not saying all marriages have to be like that of he and his wife. Yet, he does offer some Biblical insight into marriage, practical tips for a successful marriage, and some things young unmarried people might want to look for in a future spouse. Topic: Some of the things a young man should consider when looking to get married include: Do not marry a feminist or someone that is hostile to the male gender. Mary a Christian that embraces a Biblical worldview. Marry someone that is romantic, affectionate, and compassionate. Mary someone that is not dominated by selfishness. Do not marry someone that wants to compete with you. Mary someone that has self-control including in the area of finances as well as temperament. Mary someone that does not harbor bitterness but is quick to forgive. Mary someone that is disciplined, orderly, and organized. Mary someone that wants to cook and make your house a home and loves doing so. Mary someone that is committed to the work to which God has called you so you will be a team. Mary someone with which you share common interests, activities, and life goals. Mary your best friend. Do not make a practice of taking separate vacations, having different friends, and different lives. Look for a potential spouse with a similar upbringing that you want to base your marriage and family upon. Shared family values and standards will make it much easier to model that same home and duplicate in your children. Try and find a potential spouse that was raised in or that at least now attends a Bible teaching church that values marriage. Try and find a potential spouse that comes from a family that has a long history of parents, grandparents, and great grandparents that remained married. This high standard for marriage will likely mean your family members will encourage the marriage during any difficult times and not encourage it to be dissolved. Try and find a potential spouse whose parents modeled the values, standards, and home you want to duplicate.
