“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

In a chaotic world, Youth for Christ is here

We live in uncertain times, where everyone from advertisers to drug dealers try to capture the attention of our most valuable asset: young people.

For 65 years, Youth for Christ has strengthened communities by sharing the Gospel with young leaders, and empowering them to make a difference in people’s lives – an impact that spans generations. Let me share about the ministry in the USA.

Every day at thousands of community centers, high schools, middle schools, juvenile institutions, coffee shops, skate parks, and local hangouts, Youth for Christ staff and volunteers meet with young people who need Jesus. It is an amazing opportunity, and even more amazing to see the transformation in the lives of so many young people.

Although we are proud to say that with the support of Americans like you, Youth for Christ was able to reach 650,000 young people in America last year, along with 6.8 million in 116 other nations, we must do more.

Right now, what our country and international community needs most are young leaders who will apply the Gospel and their gifts of hospitality, teaching, and discernment to help lift up those who are suffering and in need.

There is a battle brewing in our world – a conflict of the spirit – and when youth are negatively influenced, violent acts can occur; but when youth have a positive influence and seek God’s Word, they become mobilized to help their community; and they become examples to others.

Youth for Christ strives to bring hope to those who are unable to see God’s purpose for their lives.

With your generous support, young people can rise above the unrest and wonton destruction, and reflect Jesus’ light on the world.

Being part of Youth for Christ, I have witnessed the unifying change that our young leaders bring to their communities, and you can too.

Today, with your donation of $20 a month or more, you will receive a copy of my book, “Kingdom Come”; and know that your gift is helping to transform our communities and train young leaders for Christ.

In this world, the question is not whether young people will be mobilized to change the world, but rather who will capture their hearts, and what cause will they be mobilized for?

The five essentials that work in the US ministry:

  • Widespread prayer – engaging Christians to intercede on behalf of the ministry.
  • Loving relationships – pursuing lost youth and engaging them in life-long relationships with Jesus.
  • Biblical education – teaching young people how to apply biblical truths to their lives.
  • Collaborative community strategy – working with local churches, agencies, and community partners to provide youth and family ministries.
  • Adults who empower – training leaders to reach young people from every demographic.

When all of these are combined, Youth for Christ is able to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus, who lead by their Godliness in lifestyle, devotion to prayer and the word of God, and passion for sharing the love of Christ.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

Youth for Christ’s work in Tuscaloosa, Alabama:

In April an F5 tornado, the most violent storm in Alabama’s history, ripped through the state, destroying 5,000 homes and leaving 15,000 Americans homeless.

Among the hardest hit areas was Tuscaloosa, a city of 90,000 residents. Two of the communities that suffered the greatest impact from the tornado are areas that have been served by Youth for Christ for over 40 years.

Having staff and volunteers who live and work in Tuscaloosa, we were able to meet the immediate needs of the community’s children and students – by providing food, water, clothes, and shelter; and we are able to fulfill their long-term spiritual and emotional needs, by providing counseling to students and children who continue to cope with their grief and loss.

With two ministries serving the community, Campus Life and Teen Moms, Youth for Christ regularly works with 600 to 700 middle school and high school students; and because of our ongoing efforts in the community, we are able to help families’ long-term needs.

Whether our nation is suffering from moral and spiritual decline or a national disaster, our staff, volunteers, and young leaders are always on the front lines ready to lend support through prayer and service.

Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. Proverbs 20:11

Youth for Christ prepares for times of crisis, and we also strive to avert crises, by empowering young people to become productive members of society.

Our workers are trained to reach young people in a relational manner, interacting with them on a day-to-day, need-by-need basis. Our goal is to empower as many young leaders as possible, and they will mobilize others, in perpetuity.

You can make sure we have the resources to make this happen.

My fervent prayer is that you will help Youth for Christ in our effort to mobilize young people for Christ. I also encourage you to pass this email on to others so they, too, will know the difference that Youth for Christ making in the lives of our youth.

“Kingdom Come” a new book by David Wraight International President of Youth for Christ

WHENEVER AND WHEREVER THE KINGDOM COMES PEOPLE WILL MEET JESUS AND THEIR WORLD WILL BE TRANSFORMED.

In the Lord’s Prayer Jesus asks us to pray that God’s Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Kingdom Come explores what happens–or what should happen–when the Kingdom of God truly comes in us, in the church, in our local community, and in the world.
